First of please enjoy this lovely joke of my companion
Knock knock
who's there?
nobody
nobody who?
nobody who cares!
feel free to use that at you pleasure.

I passed some graffiti this week that said "creo en un mundo mejor" which means i believe in a better world. But the thing is, they had put an x through en so it read "creo un mundo mejor" which means i create a better world. The message here is pretty clear but i though it was pretty awesome nonetheless.
Also i'm officially legal here in mexico. we went to the immigration office and I gave them some gorgeous photos of myself and my fingerprints and ya, i'm a legal immigrant now so sorry, i'm officially here for the next while. I tried guayaba this week which is a delicious fruit here. I think its a quince but not sure. It looks like a small potato has the texture of an apple mixed with a pear and i don't know how to describe the flavor but its great.
I can't even begin to explain how awesome being here is. All the people are great. We're talking with several different families that are super fun. There's always something good to look at too. I woke up a couple mornings ago feeling dead as could be but when i went outside it was breezy and the sky was full of puffy toy story clouds and it was awesome. There's always something good about every single day. Remember that.
In my morning study i'm reading the book of Mormon in Spanish to help with the language and all and I was reading in 1 Nephi 16:18-33. So basically they're traveling in the wilderness and Nephi´s bow breaks. And then his brothers bows lose their spring so basically they couldn't get food. Most people would be a little put out at this point but here's where we learn a great lesson in being awesome cause Nephi decides hey well its not going to magically get better, might as well do something. So he goes and makes a bow and an arrow. Then throws in a dash of faith and goes hunting. He's rocking it with a single arrow and manages to come back with multiple animals. So here's the deal. There's always something you can do. Give every effort you've got and when you do that throw in that faith and God helps with the rest. I see that everyday. We were walking around and had no more energy. We forgot to load money onto our bus cards so we couldn't take the bus. We started sluggishly walking though and suddenly we hear a whistle and look and its a church member that's stopped and basically says where are you headed? Hop in! So we do and then he says well i'm hungry, i'm going to get a couple hot dogs. How many do you want? It was just well wow. We were pooped in all ways and just before the end of our capability, a small miracle occurred. Keep being awesome. Have an adventure this week and remember that no matter what, there are at least two people that love you and would do anything for you. One being me and the other, more importantly, being Christ. In this holiday season take a moment and think about why millions upon millions of people celebrate Christmas, or the birth of Christ. Take a moment and discover that gift God gave us (John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."). christmas.mormon.org has a great 2:30 video. Love you all and be awesome!

8 December 2014

I am now serving in the Pueblitos Ward in Hermosillo.

So Tuesday a couple clouds floated by which was awesome cause its been pretty cloudless. look at them. its beautifulInline image 3
and then wednesday morning around 4 I thought I heard water leaking but it was early so I slept on but when I got up a couple hours later,  the ground was damp. It rained guys. a light sprinkle at best but it rained! I was talking with this family and the little boy, Oscar, as quite the bro. he´s maybe seven years old but before he left he gave me a penny to save for when I get back to the U.S. so that as probably one of the most adorable things to happen to me ever. Also my companion referenced to president Obama as Black Obama, instead of Barrack,  so I found that a bit funny. close enough I guess.Ii had an amazing soup that basically had a pig in it. bone veins meat, it was absolutely delicious. the next morning my companion told me "while you finish your taco, i´ll go die" lets just say the soup didn't sit too well with him. So we´ve  been talking to this guy named Edwin who is super cool. He just is a positive guy with a good outlook on everything. he loves learning and is super faithful and also currently homeless. he´s thrilled because he just recently found a job as a night guard and works 7pm to 7am. basically he's happier and more positive than a whole lot of people who have it tons easier than him. kinda a humbling experience. So our washing machine is still completely dysfunctional so i have been blessed with the experience of hand washing my clothing. its awesome and rather satisfying to be honest. please enjoy my beautiful red eyes.Inline image 1

these are two of the best tacos I've ever eaten in my life. yes you probably should be jealous, meat with salsa with chitlepin with guacamole with lime with pico de gallo with happiness and gozo.

have an awesome week and do something amazing!
Thanks for everything.I'm super stoked to get the package whenever it gets here. please print the talks. I skimmed but only have a little time and lots of emails to send. Tyler and Caleb are going to have an amazing time, super stoked for them as well, we are teaching a few people now so that's nice and the language is coming along rapidly. We have one mostly functional burner and not much time to cook so it's all good but thanks! Love you tons and keep up the wonderfulness!

1 December 2014

So most people when they hit december think something like ahhh snow, christmas, chestnuts roasting, stuff like that. Here snow isnt a thing. "nieve" which means snow, means ice cream. but hey its all good. I get quite the personal laugh at seeing everyone bundled up so to speak when its 60 degrees in the morning. basically its  always super hot. I saw a cloud yesterday so that was prety cool. I asked my companion how often it rains and he just laughed so thats promising... And dogs. there are dogs everywhere. THE FOOD. I dont know how to put it but basically everyday i rey something and am convinvçced its the best thing ive ever eaten and the nthe next day im proven wrong. its awesome. almost everything is quite spicy, even the candy oftentimes. since my companion barely speaks english every once in a while <i´ll teach him something or another. usually useful things like "take a chill pill", whats cookin home skillet, and dont be janking with my vibes. just imagine a very strong mexican accent saying that. trust me, its funny. oh and back to food, i am slowly learing how to tortilla, as in eat a mean using a tortilla as the fork spoon and knife. honestly its incredibly efficient and delicious. we locked ourselves out of the house the other day and used our mad skills with a credit card to break in. Elder Gonzalez picked up a lovely english phrase and uses it in spanish, "santa vaca" or holy cow. also a plane passed overhead so he points and asks "¿qué es eso? (whats that?)" so i respond "avión (airplane)" then he says "no, se llama tres meses. (no its called three months)" i dont know. i found it pretty funny, hes headed home in three months. basically we walkj a. lot. because we get lost a lot. we are still familiarizing ourselves with the area but as always i love it all. back to food again, aur entire celebration of thanks giving was... just about nothing but i dreamt about turkey so thats counts i guess. also everyone is pretty nice here. theres exeptions to everything of course but seriously. you walk down the road and everyone greets everyone with good day or something like that. music is blaring from everywhere. and lifes good. oh food again. let me describe to you what a truly delicious hot dog is. wipe all knowledge of "hot dog" from your mind and picture this. start with a good ole link of meat. pur it in a large delicious bun of bread that enveloves it to the point that the dog looks tiny. now start to fill the empy space with a certain salsa, guacamole, and some sauce i dont know what it was but quite frankly (get it.. frank.ly.....) i dont care cause it was delicious. then somther the lot with more pico de gallo type salsa, jalepeño, happiness, and any other topping you can imagine. then enjoy because youre life is awesome. also if any of you have every wondered what it would be like to e inside a video game, i now have done that.. everyday. theres this real nifty game called frogger im sure you all remember. but ya cross walks arent a thing so you just decide wlep, time to cross aaaaaannnd run. its great
a favorite scripture of mine come from the book of mormon, Jacob 6:12, "oh be wise, what can i say more." so dont be stupid guys. and have a fantiasic week. disfruta cada momento y recuerda que eres guapo/a y fantástico/a.
